Welcoming Leslie Irwin to Englewood

Leslie Irwin is Joining Our Englewood Team!

We are very excited to welcome Leslie Irwin, FNP, to our clinic in Englewood. MedNOW is expanding quickly to help serve patients in new communities around Denver. As a result, we are very excited to have Leslie Irwin as part of our Englewood team.

Leslie Irwin is a former professional track & field athlete turned board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Originally from Alabama, she graduated from the University of Georgia in 2014 where she earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Genetics and Biology with a minor in Spanish. Following graduation, Leslie moved to Austin, Texas to pursue her Olympic dream as a member of the Adidas Track & Field Training Team. After hanging up the spikes, Leslie moved to Denver to pursue another dream – a career in healthcare. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Colorado and worked as a registered nurse in the inpatient setting for 7 years before returning to school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.

As a dedicated FNP, Leslie is passionate about providing comprehensive and compassionate healthcare to individuals and families. With over a decade of healthcare experience in diverse clinical settings, she approaches patient care with an emphasis on collaboration and education, empowering patients to take an active role in their health. She focuses on building long-term relationships with her patients, ensuring their unique health needs are met through personalized care plans. She is committed to staying current with the latest medical advancements and best practices, continually enhancing her skills through ongoing education, and professional development.

Outside of work, Leslie enjoys spending time with her husband and puppy, hiking, camping, skiing, listening to live music, and spending time with family and friends. She looks forward to continuing to serve her patients and contribute to their overall health and well-being.

We are very excited to have Leslie Irwin on board and we cannot wait to see her excel in her role!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Did you know that 1 in 5 adults are dealing with some mental illness, and suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. The majority of those who die by suicide suffer from a mental health condition. Mental health impacts how we think, feel, and act, and plays a crucial role in our ability to cope with life's challenges. It affects everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, or social status. However, we can all improve our mental health and live fulfilling lives with the right tools and resources. Here are some tips to help improve your mental health: 1. Practice Self-Care: Take care of your physical, emotional, and mental health needs by getting enough sleep, eating well, exercising, and engaging in activities you enjoy. 2. Stay Connected: Social connections are essential for mental health. Stay in touch with family and friends, join a support group, or seek professional help if needed. 3. Manage Stress: Stress is inevitable, but it is important to manage it. Try mindfulness meditation, therapy, or yoga to help reduce stress. 4. Seek Help: If you are struggling with your mental health, do not hesitate to reach out for support. This Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s all commit to taking care of our mental health and supporting one another in our journey to better well-being.
