Functional Medicine at MedNOW

Hannah Newman and Victoria Ward lead the Functional Medicine efforts at MedNOW

We are thrilled to remind everyone of an exciting opportunity for your health and well-being—Functional Medicine services available at MedNOW!

Functional Medicine is a personalized, holistic approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness rather than simply treating symptoms. This type of care empowers you to achieve lasting health and wellness by considering all aspects of your life, including nutrition, lifestyle, and underlying health factors.

We are proud to have two highly skilled and passionate providers leading our Functional Medicine services:

Hannah Newman, FNP – Hannah is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with years of experience in both conventional and Functional Medicine. She is dedicated to helping patients take control of their health, find the root causes of chronic conditions, and achieve true healing through integrative approaches.

Victoria Ward, PA – Victoria is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant with expertise in pain management, internal medicine, and integrative care. She believes in a patient-centered, team-based approach to wellness and uses her knowledge of functional medicine to empower her patients to improve their quality of life through sustainable lifestyle changes.

Both Hannah and Victoria bring a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and dedication to Functional Medicine. Whether you're managing chronic conditions, seeking to optimize your health, or looking for a more personalized approach to care, they are here to guide you every step of the way.

Alcohol use disorder continues to be a growing concern across the country. Millions of individuals are affected each year, and excessive alcohol use contributes to a significant number of preventable health issues and deaths in the United States. With April recognized as Alcohol Awareness Month, we want to take this opportunity to raise awareness and encourage reflection on how alcohol may impact your health, relationships, and overall well-being. While alcohol use is common, it’s important to recognize when it may be affecting your life or the lives of those around you. If you or a loved one may be struggling, please know that you are not alone. Our MedNOW providers are here to offer support, guidance, and treatment options tailored to your needs. We encourage you to reach out to your provider or contact your local MedNOW clinic to learn more about how we can help. There are effective treatment options available, including FDA-approved medications that can help reduce alcohol cravings. One commonly used option is Naltrexone, a once-daily medication that has been shown to decrease cravings with minimal side effects significantly. Additional prescription and over-the-counter options may also be appropriate depending on your individual situation. For more information about alcohol use and its effects, the CDC offers helpful resources. If you or someone you know needs immediate assistance, don't hesitate to get in touch with the National Drug and Alcohol Treatment Hotline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357). Thank you for prioritizing your health and well-being.
