Did you know that heart disease affects 1 in 3 adults and causes approximately 697,000 deaths annually?
Many issues can lead to heart disease such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. But all of these issues are manageable with lifestyle changes and regular care!
Here are some tips to help you stay healthy and take charge of your heart health:
1. Know Your Numbers: Schedule a checkup to monitor blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels.
2. Stay Active: Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week.
3. Eat Heart-Healthy Foods: Focus on a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins while limiting sodium, saturated fats, and added sugars.
4. Quit Smoking: If you smoke, quitting can significantly reduce your risk of heart disease.
5. Manage Stress: Practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation to lower stress levels.
