August Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to ensure you and your family are up to date on recommended vaccines. Immunizations are one of the safest and most effective ways to protect yourself from serious illnesses while helping prevent the spread of disease throughout our community.

Vaccinations are important at every stage of life, not just during childhood. Depending on your age, health history, and lifestyle, your provider may recommend one or more of the following vaccines:

  • Influenza (Flu): Annual vaccine recommended for all adults.
  • Pneumococcal (Pneumonia): Recommended for adults age 50 and older and certain high-risk individuals.
  • COVID-19: Stay current with the latest recommended vaccine schedule.
  • Shingles (Shingrix): Two-dose series recommended for adults age 50 and older.
  • Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis (Td/Tdap): Booster every 10 years.
  • RSV: Recommended for many adults ages 60 and older based on individual risk factors.
  • HPV (Gardasil): Recommended for eligible individuals through age 45.

If you're unsure which vaccines are right for you, our providers are happy to review your immunization history and make personalized recommendations. Staying current on vaccinations is a simple step that can help protect your health now and in the future.
